FCAT Review Homework 1

SC.7.N.3.1-Recognize and explain the difference between theories and laws and give several examples of scientific theories and the evidence that supports them.

Objectives:

• Students will explain the difference between theories  and laws. 
• Students will identify examples of theories and/or laws. 
• Students will explain why theories may be modified but are rarely discarded.

Assignment 1

• Students will complete a Laws and Theories Tutorial Students will write answers in their FCAT review folder. Print out the certificate and bring to class.

Assignment 2

• Students will complete a Quizlet assignment (click the green words for the assignment).

Assignment 3

• Students will print out and complete a Law and Theory Check for Understanding (click the green words for the assignment).

FCAT Review 1

SC.6.L.15.1-Analyze and describe how and why organisms are classified according to shared characteristics with emphasis on the Linnaean system combined with the concept of Domains.

Station 1

• Students will complete a Classification on-line tutorial. Students will write answers in their FCAT review folder.

Station 2

• Students will work independently to complete  Classification notes (click notes to open assignment). Students will write down important information from the notes. Things that are in bold, highlighted, or italicized are important concepts. 

Station 3

• Students will complete a Dichotomous Key activity in small collaborative groups.

Assignment 1 Weathering, Erosion, and Deposition Vocabulary

• Students will complete every portion except the gravity assignment to review the vocabulary.

Assignment 2 Changing Earth's Surface

• Students will use agents of Erosion to change Earth's Surface.

Assignment 3 Weathering/Erosion Vocabulary Match

• Students will match weathering/erosion vocabulary terms with their meanings.

Objective: Students will identify different types of forces and graph speed and motion.
Home Learning: Students will study for test (organelles and forces), complete assignments, practice force, speed, and motion online.
